A couple months ago, CEO Dr. Rebecca Liebert (Lubrizol) spoke to our Department of Chemical Engineering at Penn State. She said that the #1 job of a CEO is to allocate resources and people. Robert G. Cooper says that resource allocation is 50% of the challenge with New Product Development (NPD).

I know several companies looking to change how they allocate their innovation portfolio among the various projects. It’s an important and time-consuming challenge. Over the past 10 years, I’ve studied and practiced a philosophy and methodology that might be very helpful for you. The method will cut through the noise to get the key parameters, allocate all projects at once in an optimal way, allow for customization within your existing processes (e.g., Stage Gate), simplify your work, and give you peace of mind.

If you’re interested to learn ideas about innovation portfolio budgeting, see this 2-page info PDF to find next steps.
