Innovating into new fields or careers

Many of us have changed our careers or vocations, even if we stayed with the same employer. In one of my former lives, I studied “active matter”. Active matter consists of non-living particles or soft matter than can spontaneously move or decide or have some “living quality”. I had the privilege of collaborating with two founders and superstars in the field, @AyusmanSen and @TomMallouk. It was a feast of delicious problems involving transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, electrochemistry, entropy, and much more. Recently Ayusman sent me this video, which is an outstanding parody on the famous Camila Cabello song “Havana” … but I actually like the parody better! It’s clever, with well-done music and science.
